2017 Winter Newsletter
The winter season is drawing to a close and while we might be ready to put away our snow shovels in welcome of the nearing spring, we can’t deny that the cold weather affords
us the opportunity to marvel at some of the beautiful landscapes designed by God’s winter weather. Fresh blankets of snow turn Lourdes Senior Community into a sparkling
wonderland this time of year, and there is always a flurry of activities at our four facilities, no matter the season.
In February, we rejoiced in the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and the World Day of the Sick, supported heart awareness, and of course celebrated Valentine’s Day. While Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love, it is also important to remember the historical context of the day. You can find the legacy of Valentine’s Day and the story of St. Valentine on page seven. Lourdes is blessed to have so many familial connections within our community, serving generations of families as well as married couples. We are continually blessed by their examples of love and commitment, and feel honored by those that have decided to share their stories with us in this issue.
Also, please make sure to note all the wonderful events taking place at Lourdes Senior
Community this year. I hope you’ll mark your calendars and join us.
Lourdes is a holy place, sustained by your prayers and support. Your commitment to our
mission makes it possible for Lourdes to be the best senior living experience anywhere. You
are giving a precious gift. May God continue to gift you with many graces.
