Our main concern today, as always, is the health and safety of people who have chosen to call Lourdes home.

Lourdes Senior Community is working very hard to continue to provide a safe environment for all of our residents and employees during this pandemic. We are in contact with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Leading Age of Michigan and state and local health departments. These guidelines have been implemented and all are following their guidelines and will continue to monitor developments with regards to COVID 19.

We have implemented a number of steps across the community including:

  • Close daily monitoring of residents for signs and symptoms of COVID 19.
  • Restriction of visitors and others to all buildings at Lourdes Senior Community.
  • Increased the frequency of cleaning common community areas and those items most often touched (door knobs, handrails, light switches, etc.).
  • Team members are screened upon arrival for work daily for elevated temperature.
  • Deliveries are being left at the doors and we will deliver to the appropriate departments/people.
  • Discontinuation of group activities, outings and entertainers and hosting small and one-on-one activities.

We have set up video calling at Lourdes Rehab and Healthcare Center, Mendelson Assisted Living and Clausen Manor through facetime, skype and facebook messenger for you to be able to see your loved one! These phone calls are available now. We are asking that you keep the video calls to 5 minutes so that everyone is able to make calls. Of course you can still call Lourdes during the day to get updates as needed or to speak to your loved one over the telephone. If you would like to schedule one of these please call Jacqui at 248-886-5621 to arrange at Lourdes Rehab and Healthcare Center or Meghan at 248-886-5833 to arrange at Mendelson Assisted Living and Clausen Manor.

We recognize this is a hard time for people who live at and those with loved ones at Lourdes Senior Community. Please be patient. Please be safe. And as always you and all of our residents remain in our prayers.
